Don't you ever wish that you could change your eye colour? Just for once, can we truly make brown eyes turn blue? Unfortunately, it's currently impossible to change your eye colour—it's hereditary, after all. However, coloured contact lenses are the next best thing. These lenses allow your eyes to temporarily change colour when you put them on. The wearers can basically go about their normal business in contacts that temporarily changes their eye colour into something vibrant, bold, and chances are really good they weren't born with the eye colour you see.
Coloured contact lenses don't alter vision; in fact, you can see out of coloured contacts. Most of the time, the people who use coloured contacts are looking for a change in their lives, and eye colour is one of the easiest ways to further along that change. Since no one can do it in reality, coloured contacts are the closest thing we'll get to it. They may wear the contacts to fool people into thinking that their eye colour has changed, but it could be something as harmless as picking out an outfit that just "looks better" when paired with the right eye colour in order to make it stand out.
Coloured contact lenses can also be used as a novelty item. They sure can, believe it or not. Coloured contacts as novelties usually show up around Halloween time. There are various types of novelty contacts, such as the ones for zombies, which appear to be opaque white to the average watcher. The person wearing the contacts can still see you, and they're just wearing the contacts for the effect. You'd be surprised how many people are startled when they see a person wearing strange-looking contacts on their eyes. It's at the very least a conversation starter.
There is a wide array of coloured contact lenses to choose from, no matter what you want to use them for. It could be because you want to "try out" a new eye colour, since you don't have that colour to yourself. Or, a person could go the fashionable route and get contact lenses that match the colour of their other accessories. However or whenever you'd like to use them, coloured contacts aren't very hard to get your hands on. They will take some getting used to, though, and not everyone can wear them. On the other hand, they can be an interesting change of pace for someone in the mood to try out a different colour.
